Kader Exports is recalling certain shrimp products over a potential salmonella contamination, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Ford is recalling more than 558,000 midsize SUVs in North America because the brakes may not work properly.

The recall, issued by Thomson on Aug. 1, includes red, yellow, white and sweet yellow onions which were shipped beginning May 1 in cartons weighing between five and 50 pounds, and mesh sacks between two and 50 pounds.

The FDA is investigating a salmonella-related illness that has infected nearly 400 people in 34 states.

Owners will be notified by mail starting in late September 2020, but they can also check online or call the company to see if their vehicle is included in the recall.

The FDA's continuously-updated list, which began in June when the regulator observed an increase in hand sanitizers that purportedly contained ethanol but tested positive for methanol contamination.

The list started in June when the agency observed an increase in hand sanitizers that allegedly contained ethanol but tested positive for methanol contamination which the FDA says is "not an acceptable active ingredient for hand sanitizers and must not be used due to its toxic effects." 

Consumers with symptoms should contact their health care provider.

The recall covers select 2016-2020 Lincoln MKX models, Nautilus vehicles with 16-way power seats, 2021 Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles with 7.3-liter engines as well as select 2020 Ford Escape and Transit models.

Snack company Hostess has voluntarily recalled a selection of its Raspberry Zingers due to potential mold growth that can occur before the baked item’s best-by date.

Whole Foods is recalling its spinach artichoke dip due to undeclared egg, according to an announcement by supplier Winter Gardens Quality Foods Inc., which was posted on the Food and Drug Administration website.

The tainted items have been introduced into the market at a time of heightened risk, with more consumers relying on sanitizers to help insulate themselves from infection with COVID-19

The FDA has expanded its hand sanitizer warning to 59 products manufactured in Mexico.
