Alibaba in Talks With Banks for up to $4 Billion Loan

Chinese Internet giant Alibaba Group Holding is in discussions with banks for a loan of up to $4 billion to fund expansion plans, including acquisitions, according to people familiar with the matter.

The Internet company said it plans to close seven of its digital magazines, including sites dedicated to articles about food, travel, parenting and health, and lay off a portion of its workforce of journalists who worked on them.
