FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr slammed Big Tech on Thursday for censoring those who tried to share a New York Post article on social media that was critical of Hunter Biden saying, “It’s time for action.”

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai said that the agency will move forward with drafting regulations surrounding social media company’s current protections under Section 230 of the 1934 Communications Act.

President Trump on Thursday slammed Twitter and Facebook, calling the social media platforms the “third arm” of the Democratic National Committee, after the tech giants blocked accounts from sharing a New York Post report on Hunter Biden's overseas business dealings.

Twitter is suppressing an official press release from the House Judiciary Committee Republicans after they reposted verbatim the New York Post story that purportedly showed emails between Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden, and a Ukrainian energy executive indicating that the younger Biden introduced the executive and the then-vice president.

Facebook and Twitter limited the distribution of a story in the New York Post about a purported email between Hunter Biden and an adviser to a Ukrainian energy company.

Facebook announced on Tuesday that it will ban ads that discourage people from getting a vaccine but will still allow ads that advocate for or against government policies around vaccines.  

Twitter must pay $100,000 to Washington state for violating campaign finance laws between 2012 and 2019.

Flagged tweets will direct users to Twitter’s U.S. elections landing page.
