Adobe Systems Inc. on Tuesday gave an outlook for its coming fiscal year that was lower than Wall Street expected, pummeling the company's shares.

Red Hat Inc, the world's largest commercial distributor of the Linux operating system, reported a 13% rise in quarterly revenue, helped by higher demand for open-source software and cloud offerings.

Photoshop maker Adobe Systems Inc's quarterly revenue and profit beat estimates, helped by better-than-expected net subscriptions to its Creative Cloud software suite.

Oracle Corp. said revenue fell a disappointing 5% in the May quarter, hurt in part by the stronger dollar and even though the software maker continued to see growth in its cloud-based products.
