Sleeping Super Bowl fan is Clinton-linked consultant CEO Declan Kelly: Report
The man spotted taking a snooze in the stands during Super Bowl LIV is Declan Kelly, an Irish-born consulting CEO with ties to the Clinton family, according to a report Monday.
Kelly went viral on social media during the game after he was spotted sound asleep in his seat during the first quarter at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. He was first identified as the sleeping Super Bowl fan by the New York Post.
Kelly serves as chairman and CEO of Teneo, a global consulting firm he co-founded alongside Doug Band, a top aide to former President Bill Clinton. Before starting Teneo, Kelly worked as an economic envoy to Northern Ireland under Hillary Clinton during his stint as secretary of state.

“Declan is a trusted advisor to several of the world’s leading CEOs and corporations,” according to Kelly’s biography on Teneo’s website.

Kelly and other Teneo executives have maintained close ties to the Clintons and their non-profit, the Clinton Foundation. The consulting firm earned millions of dollars by linking Bill Clinton to lucrative paid speaking opportunities, the New York Post reported in 2016.
Teneo did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In his role as economic envoy to Northern Ireland, Kelly “is recognized as having helped bring significant investment to the region from U.S. corporations,” according to his bio.
Kelly’s other past work experience includes a stint as executive vice president and chief integration officer at FTI Consulting. He also worked as a journalist.

Teneo has employed several Clinton associates, including Huma Abedin, the vice-chair of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2016. Bill Clinton was once named an “honorary chairman” of the firm, according to Politico.
Tickets to Super Bowl LIV sold for an average of more than $7,000 on the secondary market, with many seats selling for far more money. It’s unclear how much Kelly paid for his ticket.
