So what could the president of the United States learn from a fast food guy? How about this?

If it don't look good or sound good, it ain't gonna taste good.

That's why Andy Puzder, the CEO of CKE Restaurants (owner of Carl's Jr. and Hardee's), pours so much into the look and feel of his mouth-watering burgers.

The fact he uses hot models eating them only reinforces the point Americans are going to want to try them too … not the hot models … the burgers.

I raise this point, and this comparison, to make a simple point.

Andy knows he's got something good. I don't think it's dawned on President Obama yet, but he does not.

Because no matter how much the commander-in-chief pushes free college and free Internet, it doesn't seem to move the needle.

Maybe because Americans know they're going to have to foot the bill, and there's not much appetizing about that.

Many will say you can't compare a burger to a bureaucracy.

They're wrong. Because in the end, customers want to see the beef. It's all about presentation, and making folks think it's worthwhile.

And that’s just some food for thought.
