NFL legend Herschel Walker awards truck to ex-Navy SEAL

Legendary NFL runningback Herschel Walker awarded a custom pickup truck to a former Navy SEAL as part of the True American Hero Truck Giveaway.

Brian Jason said he was shocked to find out he was the recipient and only entered the contest after his former boss randomly submitted his name.

“I got the phone call, and I didn’t think it was real for the longest time,” Jason told FOX Business’ Stuart Varney. “I thought it was a scam at some point.”

Rocky Ridge Trucks of Franklin Springs, Georgia, partnered with TexEfx of Sanger, Texas, to customize a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 to honor the men and women who have dedicated themselves to a life of military service.

Walker, the 1982 Heisman Trophy winner, played as a running back for the University of Georgia Bulldogs. He began his football career in the USFL and played in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants.

“What stood out about Brian, not just that he was a SEAL, but that he cared more about everyone else,” Walker said.

Walker joined Rocky Ridge Trucks as a spokesman and helped generate 5,000 entries to the truck giveaway contest.

“I just hope it represents 5,000 heroes that were nominated,” Jason told Varney. “I just hope to represent them well.”
