House Democrats’ super PAC raises $32.8M, boosted by Bloomberg donation
Bloomberg donated $10M in December, boosting the total number
House Majority Pac, the super PAC that backs House Democrats, raised $32.8 million in the second half of 2019 and ended the year with $37.7 million in the bank, new Federal Election Commission filings revealed.
A significant chunk of that stemmed from Democratic presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who gave $10 million in December to support House Democrats who face opposition from Republicans, a result of the impeachment proceedings against President Trump.
Other notable contributions came from hedge fund investor S. Donald Sussman ($2 million), long-time Democratic donor and media mogul Fred Eychaner ($4 million) and real estate magnate George Marcus ($1 million).

Earlier in the week, the Senate Majority PAC, which is aligned with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, announced that it raised a record sum of $61 million in 2019. It ended the year with more than $47 million cash on hand.

Republicans hold a 53-47 majority in the Senate, and the GOP is defending 23 seats, compared to 12 for the Democrats this year.
On Thursday, the Republican National Committee reported its best-ever non-presidential year, raking in $26.5 million in December, a record for the month. In total, the RNC and Trump's reelection fundraising committees brought in $463.6 million last year, with $194.8 million cash on hand, according to Fox News.
