CME Chief Keeping Mum on CME Bid for NYSE

The executive chairman of CME Group said Tuesday he had no comment on whether the exchange operator was considering making a bid for NYSE Euronext.

"We are mindful of the transactions that are taking place throughout the world in our space," Terry Duffy told Reuters as he entered a hearing on Capitol Hill about derivatives.

NYSE Euronext and Deutsche Boerse said on Tuesday they had struck a deal to form a global exchange operator.
