‘FOX News Headlines 24/7’ to Launch on SiriusXM

A new Fox News channel will debut exclusively on SiriusXM (NASDAQ:SIRI) satellite radio on Oct. 5.

“FOX News Headlines 24/7” on channel 115 will give subscribers around-the-clock headlines on “breaking news, national stories, politics, business, entertainment, sports, social media trends, and more,” the media outlets announced in a press release. The real-time headlines will air in 15-minute cycles.

The Fox brand already broadcasts three channels on SiriusXM including audio simulcasts of Fox News Channel and FOX Business Network, and Fox News Talk, which features opinion programming.

“Our goal is to continuously deliver original breaking news product to our viewers. This up-to-the-minute national breaking news channel, combined with SiriusXM’s reach, is a natural partnership and extension for the Fox News brand,” said Fox News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes.

This initiative is being overseen by Fox News Senior Vice President of News Jay Wallace.

Fox News anchors Shepard Smith and Bill Hemmer will anchor segments in the initial weeks after the channel’s launch. The two will be replaced by additional Fox News talent later on.

Fox News Channel, FOX Business Network and Fox News Talk are all units of 21st Century Fox (NYSE:FOXA).
