Danish shipper Maersk Line has announced a vessel-sharing agreement with MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company on major shipping routes, three weeks after China blocked plans for an alliance between the two and CMA CGM of France.

Three of the biggest U.S. airlines are giving upbeat signals about their business as the peak summer travel season kicks into high gear.

Shares of some top airlines companies are up at 1 p.m.: Delta Air rose $.46 or 1.3 percent, to $36.90.

The car company said it expects profit to grow at a slower rate than analysts forecast this year and an operating margin that would be the lowest of its compatriots.
