Not just COVID: Nursing home neglect deaths surge in shadows

As more than 90,000 of the nation’s long-term care residents have died in a pandemic that has pushed staffs to the limit, advocates for the elderly say a tandem wave of death separate from the virus has quietly claimed tens of thousands more, often because overburdened workers haven’t been able to give them the care they need.

According to General Electric's 2020 Global Innovation Barometer, business leaders believe innovation is both crucial to addressing the world's challenges caused by COVID-19 and under threat due to the pandemic itself. 

Moderna says its vaccine is 94.5% effective in preventing COVID-19

Together with Pfizer Inc's vaccine, also shown to be more than 90% effective, and pending more safety data and regulatory review, the United States could have two vaccines authorized for emergency use in December with as many as 60 million doses of vaccine available by the year's end.
