A U-Haul analysis of more than two million one-way trips in 2022 found that Texas and Florida ranked as the top two destinations for movers last year.

From Arizona to Texas to North Carolina, the Sun Belt is becoming a hot spot for business relocation. Companies across America are cutting costs by moving south. And that’s fueling a housing boom in Texas.

Blue Line Moving owner John Rourke told FOX Business that the majority of long-distance moves his company does are for people from the Northeast who are moving to Florida.

Texas took top spot on the list after briefly falling to second to Florida in 2019 and Tennessee in 2020.

Movers in 2020 largely left the northeast in search of warmer weather in the south and southeast, according to data from moving company North American Moving Services.
