A diesel supply crunch and surging prices has Las Vegas truck drivers worried about how to make ends meet and warn that small trucking businesses could fold.

Mansfield Energy gave a warning to businesses that rely on diesel to have a plan for obtaining fuel as levels continue to drop to record levels.

Energy consulting company Mansfield is sounding the alarm on what it claims is a developing diesel fuel shortage in the Southeastern region of the United States.

Connecticut plans to increase their taxes on diesel by 9 cents. The upcoming change will be made on July 1st. It will increase from 40.1 cents per gallon to 49.2 cents per gallon.

Ohio truck driver Geno DiFabio told "Fox & Friends" about the pressures truck drivers are facing amid soaring diesel costs.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the price of diesel has nearly doubled over the past two years, from averaging $2.40 per gallon in 2020, to more than $4.00 dollars per gallon this year.

When truck drivers pay more to transport the goods, they increase their shipping rates. Businesses pay more, and then pass that cost on to the customer.
