Manning beat Brady twice in NFL's biggest game
NFL great Tom Brady took one last shot at his longtime rival, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, ahead of his retirement announcement Friday.
Brady tweeted well wishes to Manning just before he took the stage for his final press conference. He also made reference to Manning’s crowning achievement, a pair of Super Bowl victories – both of which came at the expense of Brady’s New England Patriots.
“Congratulations on your retirement, and a great career Eli! Not going to lie though, I wish you hadn’t won any Super Bowls,” Brady wrote.

Manning retired from the NFL with the league’s career earnings record, accumulating more than $252 million in salary during his 16-year career. He laughed off questions about Brady’s tweet during his farewell appearance.
“We joke about it, but it’s not really funny to him,” Manning said. “When you think about the great moments of your career, those are on the top of your list.”

Manning won two Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Awards while leading the Giants to championship wins in 2007 and 2011. The 2007 win over a previously undefeated Patriots team ranks among the biggest upsets in NFL history.
Manning holds several Giants franchise records, including most touchdown passes and most passing yards.
