Why Presidential Hopeful Gary Johnson Quit Pot

2016 Libertarian presidential candidate Gary Johnson says pot and alcohol are off limits during the election campaign.

“I haven’t had a drink of alcohol in 29 years. It has to do with my belief that you should be the best you can be all the time. My whole life is about health and wellness,” he told the FOX Business Network’s Stuart Varney

Johnson, who is pro-marijuana legalization, said a president should not be impaired when on the job.

“Running for president is a 24/7 job, being president is a 24/7 job. So I am not going to indulge in anything that impairs my ability with [those] 12 minutes of ‘gee the missiles are incoming.’ I think you want somebody’s finger on that button that’s [going to] be all there,” he said.
