Scaramucci: Trump Should Get First-Ballot Victory at GOP Convention

Voters in the state of New York headed to the polls on Tuesday to cast their primary ballots as the contest for party nominations has gotten increasingly hotter for both the Republican and Democratic parties.

Anthony Scaramucci, the FOX Business Network's Wall Street Week co-host, and founder of SkyBridge Capital, said on Cavuto Coast to Coast, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump is the odds-on favorite to receive first-ballot victory at the GOP convention. That comes despite the increasing tension in the party around the business mogul’s frontrunner status.

“I think he’s doing a good job of bringing in some insiders. He brought in Rick Wiley, who was the campaign manager for Scott Walker…he’s a very hands-on guy. He knows the intricacies of the system,” Scaramucci said.

He continued by saying actions like these only bolster Trump’s efforts to clench the Republican nomination.

“What this says about candidate Trump is that he’s bright enough, secure enough, to surround himself with superstar talent that will help him get his objectives done. So, he does have a team now to help him get it done,” Scaramucci said.

Scaramucci, who backed Governor Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential race, said he hopes the former candidate, despite his very public opposition to Trump, will come out in support of him ahead of the GOP convention.

“I think politics makes strange bedfellows. We are Republicans. I think this is very necessary for the Republican Party to regain the presidency,” he said. “Listen, I’m on-side and I’m wearing the Republican jersey.”
