This week is the biggest hospitality conference in the country, sponsored by NYU. I’ve featured several big hotel chains that are hiring, and I am kicking off with thousands of jobs available at IHG. Other opportunities include positions at Amway and, well, guys and gals that like to fix things.

IHG (Intercontinental Hotel Group) – Hotel company with over 4,700 hotels in nearly 100 countries and territories. Has nine well-known hotel brands, including Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Candlewood Suites.
*Currently has 787 openings. IHG has already hired for 1,263 positions so far this year and expects it will continue to hire at around the same pace in 2014. Expects to recruit 30,000 roles in the Americas over next few years.
*Top Jobs: General Managers, Housekeepers, Front Desk Agents, Product Managers (which has a salary range of $70k to $100k).
*Predicts major growth in TX (where it has 100+ hotels slated to open), PA, CA, NY, LA, Chicago and Nashville

AMWAY – Direct selling company that offers people an opportunity to become entrepreneurs in 100-plus countries and territories. Offers hundreds of products that are primarily focused on nutrition, beauty and home.
*Plans to hire more than 400 people in 2014. The company has nearly 100 open positions right now.

USAA – Provides insurance, banking, investments, retirement products and advice to 10.3 million members of the U.S. military and their families.
*Hiring for 5,400 positions in 2014.

*Has a strong focus on hiring veterans and military spouses. In 2013, USAA set an internal goal that 30% of all new hires would be veterans or military spouses, a mark it achieved by October last year. In 2014 USAA has continued to keep pace with that same goal.
