Boehner: Budget Deal Not Yet in Sight

U.S. House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner said on Thursday that talks with the White House over a spending bill for this year are drifting further apart and that substantive policy issues remain to be resolved.

Boehner, the top Republican in the U.S. Congress, said at a news conference that negotiators were closer to a number on Wednesday night during talks at the White House than they were on Thursday morning.
