Varney: Democrats suffering from nasty impeachment hangover

'They’ve dragged our president and our country through the dirt and now the jig is up'

After being intoxicated by impeachment, Democrats have a hangover that is not going away any time soon, FOX Business’ Stuart Varney argued in his latest “My Take.”

“It’s over. They lost and, deep down, they know it. They went into the Iowa caucuses eager to get the election rolling so they could get rid of the president they hate,” Varney said.

The hangover from the vote-counting “debacle” in Iowa too will be difficult for the party to shake off, he added. A party that cannot organize a caucus count is not well-positioned to run health care, Varney argued.

Democrats also cannot shake off Joe Biden’s “disastrous” fourth-place performance in Iowa, he said asking how Biden could hope to beat President Trump if he cannot beat a 38-year-old mayor of a small town in Indiana.

“The speech rip-up by Speaker Pelosi will live forever and so will this,” Varney said pointing to a photo that appears to indicate that Pelosi had “practiced the ripping to make sure she could actually do it.”

Varney described this as petulant and practiced theatrics.

“When you wake up the next day hungover, sometimes you regret what you did and if truth be told, you’re probably embarrassed too,” he said.

Democrats find themselves thoroughly depressed this morning and right in the middle of their drive to remove the president from office, a Gallup poll shows Trump’s approval rating hitting an all-time high, Varney argued.

“I have no sympathy for the left whatsoever. They’ve dragged our president and our country through the dirt and now the jig is up. With leaders like Pelosi, Schumer, Sanders, Warren, and AOC, that hangover will be around for some time to come,” Varney concluded.
