Wal-Mart Sees Its Biggest Ever Day For Online Ordering On Cyber Monday

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said it saw the biggest online day in its history for orders on Cyber Monday. Wal-Mart said mobile accounted for 70% of traffic to its website between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday. There were 1.5 billion hits on Walmart.com in that period. Wal-Mart attributed the higher traffic to the evening deals that it offered on Cyber Monday to attract working customers and millenials. It was the company's biggest-ever day for same-day pickups, with orders up 70% over last year. More than 100 Cyber Monday specials were available for same-day pickup at Walmart stores. Among its best-selling Cyber Monday items were the Apple iPad mini 16GB, and the top-selling pickup items included the 2014 Holiday Barbie Doll.
