Wal-Mart Also Lifting Pay For Its Managers
In addition to lifting the pay of associates, Wal-Mart Stores is also raising the pay of its managers. Wal-Mart said in a letter to its employees it will raise the starting wage for some of these positions to at least $13 an hour this summer and at least $15 an hour early next year. Wal-Mart also said it will raise the pay of its associates to at least $9 an hour by April and to at least $10 an hour by Feb. 2016. Wal-Mart said the cost of the pay and related initiatives will be more than $1 billion for this fiscal year.
