Varoufakis Resignation Rumor Denied By Greek Ministry Of Finance

A representative from the Greek Ministry of Finance on Friday rebuffed rumors that the country's finance minister Yanis Varoufakis is resigning. Earlier on Friday, German newspaper Bild had suggested the controversial minister would leave his post after a series of incidents in the press and amid heightened tensions with Greece's international lenders. "It's ridiculous. We were laughing when we heard it," said Dimitris Yannopoulos from the finance ministry. "It's just a rumor, which probably is some political objective that comes from Germany."
