Twitter Announces Testing Of E-commerce Product And Places Pages
Twitter Inc. announced Friday that it is testing new pages which will curate tweets, images and videos about a product or place and include an option to buy products. The pages will also highlight relevant and recent tweets about the subjects. Twitter said it is also testing "collection" pages from top influencers and brands such as Demi Lovato, The Ellen Show, Nike , Target and Warner Bros. Those pages will feature "their favorite places and things." The changes come after Twitter's CEO Dick Costolo announced he was stepping down and after news of Twitter's live event curation. Twitter's stock climbed 4% in midday trade, and have gained 0.5% year to date, compared with a 2.7% advance for the S&P 500.
