Turkish Airlines suspends flights to Irbil following US airstrikes
Turkish Airlines says it has suspended flights to the Iraqi city of Irbil until further notice.
The company said Friday it halted flights for security reasons after U.S. jets dropped bombs on Islamic militants who were towing artillery outside of the Kurdish regional capital, near U.S. personnel.
Turkish Airlines' flights to other Iraqi cities are not immediately affected.
The airstrikes targeted the extremist Islamic State group, which controls large areas of Syria and Iraq.
