Toyota Motors to Sell 5 Million Hybrids by 2015
Toyota Motors (NYSE:TM) announced on Wednesday plans to sell 5 million hybrid vehicles during the early portion of the decade, according to a Reuters report.
Toyota announced in early August that it had sold 2.68 million hybrid vehicles worldwide since 1997, including the company’s best-selling Prius.
The company’s sales in Japan have been up lately due to government subsidies for families choosing more fuel efficient cars. New hybrids will be introduced to the market through 2020, according to the report.
