Thousands Of Refugees Trapped In Syria As ISIS Moves In: Reports
Thousands of Syrians and Palestinians are trapped at a refugee camp on the outskirts of the Syrian capital Damascus as the militant Islamic State took over much of the camp, according to media reports Sunday. Although hundreds have already fled the fighting, up to 18,000 still remain even as stories of atrocities emerge. "Reports of kidnappings, beheadings and mass killings are coming out from Al-Yarmouk," Saeb Erekat, an member of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation's executive committee, told the Financial Times. ISIS is in control of significant areas of eastern Syria and has been battling various factions in the country, according to the FT.
