"The 33" Hollywood movie about trapped miners starring Banderas, Binoche is released in Chile

The Hollywood movie on the 33 miners who were trapped deep underground in 2010 is being released in Chile.

Thursday's release comes a day after the fifth anniversary of their saga.

Spanish actor Antonio Banderas and French actress Juliette Binoche star in "The 33." The film dramatizes the cave-in at the mine in Chile's Atacama desert and their globally televised rescue that mesmerized millions worldwide.

Banderas plays Mario Sepulveda, who became the public face of the trapped miners.

Binoche plays Maria Segovia, the sister of a miner who became known for her outgoing personality as "the mayor" of the makeshift settlement that rose outside the mine.

"The 33" was shot on location in Chile and at a mine in Colombia. It will be released in the U.S. on Nov. 13.
