Subway unveils nationwide loyalty program
Subway is rolling out a nationwide loyalty program in March at 28,500 Subway locations in the U.S. and Canada. Tokens are the key to earning discounts with the new Subway MyWay rewards. Rewards members will earn four tokens for every dollar spent. When you collect 200 tokens by spending $50, you'll earn a discount of $2 on any menu item.
Airbnb is now offering new tiers of their home booking system, aimed at higher-end customers, called Airbnb Plus and Beyond by Airbnb. The new "Airbnb Plus" tier has homes verified for "quality and comfort" that have been inspected. And the luxury tier, called "Beyond by Airbnb" is built around whole trips including hospitality, custom experience and higher-end homes. Airbnb is also launching a loyalty program, called "Superguests", which puts it more in line with hotel offerings.
And Southwest Airlines has raised the fee to get a prime boarding position on some flights. The airline, which is known for not assigning seats, will now charge up to $50 one way to board in the first group of travelers. That fee applies only to a few "high demand'' markets. Upgraded boarding was introduced in 2013 when the company charged $30, $40 and now $50 to secure a spot in the "A" boarding group.
