Oscar Pistorius Found Guilty Of Murder By Appeals Court
Oscar Pistorius has been found guilty of murder by South Africa's Supreme Court on Thursday, overturning a prior manslaughter conviction the former athlete received last year, media reports said Thursday. Pretorius has been living under house arrest, having served less than year behind bars for shooting his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, through a locked bathroom door in February 2013. Judge Lorimer Eric Leach ruled that the Pistorius was responsible for the shots he fired through that door, no matter whether he was firing at an intruder or his girlfriend. The case will now be sent back to Pretoria's high court, where it will be decided if Pistorius will face a lengthier prison sentence.
