Nike's Stock Surge Is Responsible For Most Of The Dow Futures Gain
Investors can thank the premarket surge in Nike Inc.'s stock Friday for most of the early rise in the Dow Jones Industrial Average futures. The athletic shoe and apparel giant's shares are the 10th-highest priced stock in the Dow, which is a price-weighted index. The stock's $3.61, or 3.4%, jump ahead of Friday's open, would add about 24 points to the Dow's price. And Dow futures were recently up 37 points. Nike reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter results after Thursday's close, putting the share on track to open at a record high.
