NFL Giving Up Tax-exempt Status, Reports Say

The National Football League is giving up its tax-exempt status, according to reports. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told team owners and members of Congress about the decision in letters dated Tuesday. Goodell says the tax-exempt status has become a "distraction," according to the Associated Press.
