Walt Disney Co. rose $1.53 or 1.4 percent, to $108.22.

Gannett rose $.19 or .5 percent, to $35.14.

New York Times Co. rose $.09 or .7 percent, to $13.08.

Time Warner Inc. rose $.67 or .8 percent, to $84.07.

21st Century Fox Inc. class B rose $.50 or 1.5 percent, to $33.12.

Viacom Inc. rose $1.12 or 1.6 percent, to $70.52.
