Justice Dept. Investigating Possible Airline Collusion, AP Reports

The Justice Department is probing whether airlines colluded to keep fares high by growing at a slower pace, according to an Associated Press report citing a document and a spokeswoman. The report quoted the agency's spokeswoman, Emily Pierce, as saying the government was looking into "unlawful coordination." Though she didn't identify which companies were being probed, American Airlines , Delta Air Lines , Southwest Airlines and United Airlines control more than 80% of the seats for U.S. flights.
