John Boehner Re-elected As House Speaker
Rep. John Boehner of Ohio was re-elected speaker of the House of Representatives on Tuesday. Boehner, an Ohio Republican, won a third term as speaker amid a revolt from some conservative Republicans dissatisfied with his leadership. Republicans Ted Yoho of Florida, Louie Gohmert of Texas and Daniel Webster of Florida were also nominated, but Boehner prevailed with 216 votes. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was also nominated. A simple majority of all members voting was required for a candidate to win.
