JNJ Recalls Medical Drainage Products on Sterility Issues
Johnson & Johnson’s (NYSE:JNJ) Ethicon business is recalling several medical drainage products due to recently identified sterile concerns.
The company said it identified the issue following several customer complaints regarding the potential for the sterile barrier of the product packaging to be compromised.
Ethicon, which makes various surgical products, requested customers immediately discontinue using the products, which include Blake Silicone Drains, Blake Silicone Drain Kits, Blake Cardio Connectors, J-VAC Reservoirs and J-VAC Drain Adapters distributed between May 10, 2010 and Feb. 28.
Ethicon said its customers should stop using the products and return them via the enclosed pre-paid shopping label to Stericycle, a company that manages and disposes of medical waste.
