J.M. Smucker To Acquire Big Heart Pet Brands For $5.8 Billion Including Debt

J.M. Smucker said Tuesday it is acquiring privately held Big Heart Pet Brands for $5.8 billion including $2.6 billion in debt. The cash and stock transaction is expected to close by the end of April. J.M. Smucker expects to incur one-time transaction costs of $225 million in connection with the deal, including $150 million in cash charges.
