House Passes Bill Giving Senate More Time To Vote On Spending Bill
The House of Representatives on Friday passed a bill to fund the government through Wednesday. The measure would give the Senate more time to consider legislation to fund the federal government through next September. An earlier measure passed by both houses on Thursday only kept the government running through Saturday. Earlier Friday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he hoped the pass the long-term bill some time during the day. But both liberal Democrats and conservative Republicans are unhappy with the massive spending bill.
