Shares of some top homebuilders companies were down at the close of trading:

DR Horton fell $.31 or 1.2 percent, to $26.26.

Hovnanian Enterprises Inc. fell $.02 or .6 percent, to $3.18.

Lennar Corp. fell $.82 or 1.7 percent, to $46.37.

Pulte Homes Inc. fell $.25 or 1.2 percent, to $19.87.
