Fed 'dot-plot' Sees Rates Rising To 1.125% In 2015 Instead Of 1.375%
Most top Federal Reserve officials predict interest rates will rise in 2015, but not quite as much as previously estimated. The fed funds rate is projected to increase to 1.125% by the end of 2015 from near zero today, according to the so-called dot plot. Previously Fed officials had estimated rates would rise to 1.375% in 2015. Fifteen of 17 members of the Fed's policy committee expect rates to go up next year vs. 14 in the September meeting. Similarly, Fed officials project rates will climb to 2.5% in 2016, down from a prior forecast of 2.875%.
