Cyber Monday sales as of 3 p.m. New York time rose 8.7% above year-earlier levels, less than half of the 18.7% growth recorded on the same day last year, according to IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark. Mobile devices represented almost two-fifths of all online traffic and 21% of online sales. Average order value was flat at $133.07. The slowing Cyber Monday sales gain followed data that showed a decline in Black Friday weekend sales as promotions from retailers diverted the sales that are typically concentrated in these shopping days.
