Clinton criticizes predatory lenders, for-profit colleges during veterans forum in Nevada

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton is vowing to protect veterans from aggressive for-profit colleges and predatory lenders while preserving the dominance of the U.S. military.

The former secretary of state spoke Thursday at a historic VFW post in Reno before about 200 people and five panelists from the military community.

Clinton says her top priorities as president will include taking care of veterans when they return home.

She is arguing for continuing the post-9/11 G.I. Bill and promises to veto any efforts to pare down its benefits. She says her plan to get veterans into school and the workforce includes cracking down on for-profit colleges that can saddle former servicemembers with heavy debts.
