Chrysler may add shifts at three U.S. plants: report

DETROIT (Reuters) - Chrysler Group LLC <FIA.MI> may add a third shift at plants in Michigan and Illinois, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday.

The additional shifts would be at plants in Detroit and Sterling Heights, Michigan, as well as Belvidere, Illinois, said General Holiefield, the United Auto Workers (UAW) vice president in charge of Chrysler, according to the news agency.

"The company has made no new announcements about any additional shifts or employment at any facilities," said Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson.

The UAW declined to comment.
