Average retail gasoline prices in Texas drop by 8 cents, settling at $2.81 per gallon
IRVING, Texas – Retail gasoline prices across Texas continue to fall, with the latest unleaded price at the pump settling at $2.81.
AAA Texas on Thursday reported that this week's average price represents a drop of 8 cents from the prior week.
The national average, meanwhile, fell from $3.08 to $3.01.
AAA says of the metro areas in Texas, drivers in Fort Worth are paying the least at $2.70 per gallon while motorists in Corpus Christi are paying the most, $2.86 a gallon.
AAA says global oil supplies, including significantly higher oil production in the U.S., are outpacing a growth in demand. Oil production so far has not been slowed by geopolitical tensions in Iraq, Syria and elsewhere.
