Arkansas Lawmakers Pass Religious-belief Bill
Lawmakers in Arkansas passed a religious freedom bill on Tuesday, according to reports. The measure will go to Gov. Asa Hutchinson, a Republican who has said he would sign it. The bill is similar to the one Indiana Gov. Mike Pence signed into law last week amid concerns that it allows businesses to discriminate against gay customers. Proponents of the bill have said the law prevents the government from infringing on business owners' religious beliefs without a compelling interest.
