Actress Gwyneth Paltrow to Return to 'Glee': Report

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow will return to the TV show "Glee" after her previous high-profile appearance on the FOX program was a hit with viewers, Access Hollywood reported late Sunday.

Paltrow, 38, will reprise her guest role as substitute teacher Holly Holiday, who caught the eye of "Glee" mastermind Will Schuester (played by actor Matthew Morrison) and impressed McKinley High students with her musical prowess.

The wife of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin caused a stir after the November 16 episode when she made fun of Lindsay Lohan's recent run-ins with the law.

In the episode, Paltrow teaches a Spanish class and instructs her students to translate statements about Lohan's highly publicized behavior.

"Lindsay Lohan is totally crazy, right?" she said to her class.

"How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?" she said, encouraging the class to practice their numbers.

Lohan is currently in rehab at the Betty Ford Center after she tested positive for cocaine while on probation for an earlier offense. She has been in rehab a total of five times since 2007.

According to Lohan matriarch, Dina, the 24-year-old actress was disillusioned by the joke because she thought she and Paltrow were friends.

"Lindsay is so upset with Gwyneth," Dina Lohan, 48, told Radar Online Monday. "Lindsay was watching it ["Glee"] while in Betty Ford, then she called me and was upset and said, 'Why did she have to do that?'"

"Gwyneth went overboard, and it was unnecessary," she added.

FOX television is owned by News Corp., which also owns NewsCore and FOX Business.
