Tweet Business of the Day: The Hospitality Training Company
Who: James Harries, 46, @HTC_Training
What: A consultation and training company focusing on the restaurant and hotel industry.
How: Harries, a native of Australia, began working at a local McDonald's at age 14. From there, he worked at several fine-dining restaurants in hotels, and became interested in training.
"I went from fast food to fine dining, but was always a trainer," Harries said. "It was something that became natural to me, being able to motivate a team and teach as well."
In his own words: "Basically you are elevating the guest to the feeling that they were floating, and when they look around they don't even see you," Harries said. "It's providing that level of service that's unobtrusive and effective."
