Tweet Business of the Day: Rare Tee Clothing
Who: Catherine Mullins, 25, @rareteeclothing
What: Rare Tee Clothing, which sells graphic t-shirts imprinted with endangered species, as well as accessories for men, women and children.
When: Mullins started up in 2010.
How: After going to school for fashion design, Mullins began working in the corporate world of the fashion industry. She said she was disappointed to learn the company she was working for was not environmentally-friendly.
"I found myself recycling everything in the office," Mullins said. "There weren't a lot of ethical business practices."
Today her boyfriend works with her on the clothing line, which retails strictly online.
Where: Los Angeles, Ca.
In he own words: "I wanted to create awareness and an ethical business," Mullins said. "I'd love to expand—maybe have a side line of higher-end designer, sustainable, eco-friendly clothing."
