Tweet Business of the Day: Lafayette Brewing Company

Who: Greg Emig, 47, @lafbrew

What: Local brew pub

When: 1993

How: Emig took up brewing as a hobby more than 20 years ago. After working at a local brewery, he decided to make his hobby into something more.

"I was a home brewer gone mad," Emig said. "My wife said we need to get this out of the house and get a business started."

Today, the Lafayette Brewing Company brews more than 30 beers per year in the restaurant.

Where: Lafayette, Ind.

In his own words: "We have quality food, customer service, catering and live entertainment," Emig said. "We are home to Purdue University, so that was what was appealing to us about the location. We've got a nice package."
