Small Business of the Day: All American Clothing Co.
Who: Co-founder Lawson Nickol , 60, @AllAmericanJean
What: Made-in-America clothing line
When: 2002
How: Nickol was working as a salesperson in the apparel industry when the company went "foreign," moving its operations overseas.
"It took me a week to decide I needed to run my own American-made company," he said.
From there he started All American Clothing Co. and began to sell premium-style jeans as well as durable working jeans that are 100% made in the U.S. He has since expanded the line to include T-shirts, jackets and accessories.
Where: Arcanum, Ohio
In his own words: "Our jeans have been tested for about eight years and they last about two times longer than the regular jeans you buy out of the big-box retailers, which come from across the ocean."
